H.R. Giger Series
Over here at There is no dog, we are super inspired by the fantastic works of famous Swiss artist H.R. Giger. That is why we are so thrilled to introduce our new A.I. art collection inspired by this super talented artist. We first got the idea to juxtapose celebrity portraits in the style of H.R. Giger. We started with Elon Musk, since he was making huge waves for just purchasing Twitter for a cool $44 billion. It took a lot of trial and error, but we were finally happy with one of the variations that MidJourney generated for us.
Let’s pause for a moment to reflect on the style of H.R. Giger.
H.R. Giger was a Swiss artist who is best known for his contributions to the Alien film franchise. His paintings often featured dystopian, biomechanical landscapes and figures, often depicting disturbing or grotesque imagery. One of his most famous paintings is called "Necronom IV," which depicts a creature with long, spindly arms and a humanoid head emerging from a dark, cavernous landscape. The creature appears to be in pain or distress, and the overall atmosphere of the painting is eerie and unsettling. Giger's distinctive style, which combines elements of surrealism and biomorphism, has made him a widely recognized and influential figure in the world of science fiction and fantasy art.
What other celebrities can we Gigerize?
Well, since we are such huge fans of comedy here at There is no dog, how about some comedians that we admire? Our first iconic comedian we tackled was the very funny Larry David of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm fame. Next, the hilarious British comedian Ricky Gervais. We also tried Jerry Seinfeld but couldn’t quite get him to look how we wanted. We are still working on that one.
H.R. Trump
Since H.R. Giger has a very dystopian style, we tried to think of other celebrities whose personalities would closer match that of a dystopian future. We didn’t have to think to hard before Donald J. Trump came to mind.
